Exams are over~~~
Halloz everyone...how's everybody??No rainfall for these few days and so its a bit hot hot hot.
Haha finally the final of my 2 papers was finished on Monday..now considered free already. But the strange thing was that i went to check my schedule for next semester and there weren't any modules for me!!!Patsy sent an email to Julian asking if he could help already..i sure hope we can at least take a module or something lorr or else we would be graduating even later liaoz lehh.
Read in the papers that Star Search would not be held this year.It seems that Mediacorp would be going for a revamp of the competition which has churned out artistes such as Zoe Tay and Li Nanxing. In recent years it went regional as people from Malaysia,Taiwan and even China participated in the competition. But the foreign winners of the competition did not all become stars..a few of them left in the end.Guys such as Chang Lu Feng,Zheng Wen and the latest one from China whom i have even forgotten the name hahah..all of them din stay on in Mediacorp..and Chang Lu Feng i think even had more fame in Taiwan than he ever had in Singapore. What do you all think??Haha yahoo had its own poll on the Star Search format..i guess i will put one up also.
I accompanied my friend to the Project Superstar audition on Saturday and haha in the end it was too jialat lar it seemed so she never join the long queue. The reason was that besides the long queue, the people had to have a live audition singing at a small pavilion and without any background music, plus a lot of people would be crowding around the area...whew it seemed real scary.A lot of people sounded very good..and some went a bit out of tune but i guess it was because of being nervous.Haha the turnout consisted of a lot of lil gals and whew i even saw my sec sch mate Susan, but hha she was not the one auditioning..i think shld be her boyfriend??Sure wish all the people who go thru good luck :) I am all for new talent rising up.
Hahaha Sunday i participated in this treasure hunt game at Plaza Singapura..and i let my friends down :*( cos i think at the last moment i either pressed some wrong number on my hp calculator or what. The premise of the game was to be paired up and then we would choose one envelope which contained a number.we chose 999.90.we would have to go to 10 tenants at Plaza Singapura and take Polaroid pics of 10 items within half an hour..and if we get the closest amount to the number we chose,we would be able to keep the 10 items we chose.Aww and it all came down to my mistake.I really gotta apologize to my team mate and my friends who supported me.
How does everyone feel about racism? And how bout racist jokes then??I came across this article in the Straits Times that was talking about some jokes on Talkingcock.com
that were deemed too derogatory for posting upon the website. It seems that the ST reporter either had too little time for writing her editiorial or that ST had some creative editing of the piece, because the editiorial was actually taken from an interview the reporter had undertaken with Colin Goh through email. The full effect of Colin Goh's replies were diminished when a few of his more politically correct replies were not published at all.
Talkingcock.com
had actually placed a lot of disclaimers on its opening page, and on the pages where the jokes were at,telling those who felt offended should not visit the website at all.Somemore the jokes were not targetted at any particular race, every race had its own jokes.I don't see any wrong in placing the jokes on the websites especially since the jokes were submitted by a lot of people who wanted to share the humour and a lighter side of things.I just hope a lot of people would not just complain for such little things, and people from abroad wonder why Singapore is so lacking in creativity?
Ahhh the coup de grace for today would be this webbie...
Hokkien Lang
Haha i came across this in a forum and it seems that *gasp* its written by a Malay from Malacca!!!!Haha can it be possible??People do go and read and be amazed...mannn i even have to stop to read thru the words and pronounce them aloud then can noe what they mean hahahaha.
The anti-Japanese sentiments in South Korea and China have risen yet again...a lot of burning of the Japanese military flag, disturbances at Japanese shops and scolding of Japanese people have been done by a lot of angry South Koreans and PRCians.I personally feel that its ok if its done thru non-violent protests. There shouldn't be any sort of violent behaviour from any of the protestors lor i feel.I really do hope that the Japanese government does apologize for the atrocities it committed during WW2...its not to say that the PRC government is an angel, but its just that a lot of the atrocities committed by the Japanese were for their sadistic pleasure.I read up from wiki about Iris Chang,a Chinese-American who wrote an award selling book about the Nanking Massacre and who committed suicide after going thru depression from further research about the subject...I know i am harping a lot on this event but whenever i read about Nanking,i feel extremely sad because i am Chinese..even though i am from Singapore. The current generation of Japanese have no memories of that event as they have been taught otherwise so i do hope the protestors do not perpetrate any bad things against the innocent. Its the old guard of the japanese government, the fat cats of the bureaucracy, that need to apologize for the bad things they had done.
For that...i end the posting for now...hope everyone takes care and stays healthy :)
