exams tmr!!!!

Heyhoz everyone :) how has the week been??a lot more rainy days this past week eh??Mostly i guess is due to the fact that this week was Qing Ming festival week...not to be superstitious but every year during this period, the weather is always rainy...and always when we go 扫墓(the process of visiting the graves)the rain would be falling. It is actually a good thing also lar...cos the cemetery would be a very uncomfortable place to be in during a very very hot weather. This year would be the last time i visit my maternal grandfather's grave already, cos his body would have to be exhumed and cremated, then placed at a temple in bukit batok in the future. No choice i guess as Singapore has very scarce land for burials.

Talking about burials, the Pope's funeral was on just now,may his Holiness rest in peace.I wonder how long it would take for him to be beatified and then sainted.I remember there was a great hoo ha about the decision for Mother Teresa to be beatified, being that she is now known as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta...For her to be beatified, there had to be an authenticated case of miracle performed by her..i am thinking how His Holiness's beatification and canonization would proceed.

As all of you know,i have been watching a lot of Taiwanese news and the most recent one i deem fit to write about was related to Japan. The chairman and members of a political party 台联(Taiwanese Union) went to visit the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo during their visit to Japan. For those who do not know, the Yasukuni Shrine is the shrine that houses the A-grade war criminals during the WW2.And in doing that, the politicians were chided for being 卖国贼和无耻(traitors and baseless) because of the fact that a lot of Taiwanese people were killed by the Japanese during WW2 and a lot of women were seized as sex slaves.Their response to this was that there was 28000 taiwanese nationality japanese soldiers being housed at the temple also and so they had the right to visit the shrine. But one thing they shouldn't have mentioned was that some members of the TU exhorted that 8 out of 10 of the sex slaves did it willingly and for monetary returns.THAT is such an insult for the people who had suffered during WW2.Sighh and another thing linked to this was the changing of certain events in Japan's history textbooks to being far away from the truth. One thing written falsely was that the occupation of China was stated in the textbook as being retaliation for aggresion in the beginning from China...one more event was the Nanking Massacre where the brutality of the Japanese soldiers was just passed off..the next event was the war in South East Asia where the textbook claimed that Japan wanted to help SEA and chase out the colonial powers.Yes we should thank the Japanese for helping us do that, but the textbook neatly left out the fact that the Japanese Army benefited a lot from the space and supplies it got from occupying the SEA nations. These changes in the Japanese history texts resulted in protests from China and even South Korea...where a lot of people called for the boycott of Japanese products.I wouldn't go so far as to boycott japanese goods but i just hope that the japanese government at least apologizes and gives the victims of the war their dignity back.

Well well..i guess i should talk about lighter things then now...hahah yet again on the taiwanese channel..i saw quite a nice bit of news...and it was about love.hahahaha well its abt this couple who got married..but what is so special about this couple??I guess its not special but its the way they got to know each other. The couple were primary school mates and the boy was paired up to sit with the girl. You would think that since they got married now they should have been very lovey dovey? On the contrary, the guy bullied the gal a lot by doing things such as pulling her hair and disturbing her.The parents of the gal even got into quarrels with the parents of the boy.The boy later went for further studies in USA after his primary sch and the girl actually also went to USA for her further studies too and they did keep on and off contact. It was only finally when they grad from college...they ended up at UC Berkeley together and the relationship blossomed from there :) Hehe it turns out that actually the boy already liked the girl during pri sch and the bullying was just ways to attract her attention(yesh perverted ways of gaining attention but i can understand how he feels cos i think i felt like that before haha) and even their primary school teacher played a part it seems, because the girl's mum had requested for her to be seated away from the boy,but the teacher mebbe sensing the liking for the girl from the boy, said that seats shouldn't be anyhow changed..hahaha wish them all da best in the marriage :)

Whew tomorrow is my exam already and yeahh you guys must be wondering what the heck i am doing blogging eh??Good luck to all of us who are taking the paper tmr :) haha i will try and revise as much as i can before i get sleepy later lor :) dunno my memory will be good enough to remember models and theories or not.

Guess i would stop here for now then :) baibaizz everyone...wish me luck also ahhh hahaha.

Cheerioz
